Julie, I heard your talk at Canoecopia and bought your book which you signed. My wife Ellie and I just finished it reading aloud to each other. Thank you for a wonderful account, definitely almost as good as actually being there. I have made over 20 canoe trips to the BWCA. Ellie and I have been together on 10 of them, so it was a reminder of the experiences we have had. Yesterday I checked the 2000 New Trier alumni directory and sure enough there was Charly! I grew up in east Glenview and was class of 56 at NT. Ellie grew up in Madison, but started kindergarten in Calumet, UP Michigan. We get up to northern WI and UP Mich. often. I'm going to recommend your book to family, friends and fellow paddlers. It's great. Congratulations.
